MAPS: The Darkmanse

The Darkmanse island is on the eastern coast of the continent. Prior to the advent of Megadeath, it was known as Staten Island. Measuring only sixty square miles, the island was the site of an underground installation built in the 1960s as part of a network of secret installations conceived by the RAND Corporation as a means to ensure the continuity of government in the event of a catastrophic nuclear attack by the Soviet Union. Traces of the original
bomb shelter are still present in the
uppermost levels of the necropolis.
